New England Design & Construction is proud to announce the completion of its most recent Room to Dream project!

In partnership with Room to Dream, NEDC, recently offered its services to design and execute a new bedroom for an 11-year-old Brockton resident fighting cancer.

“Spasy is an 11-year-old fighter. She currently shares one room of a two-bedroom apartment with her younger brother, Emmanuel, and really deserves a space that allows for her to rest, recharge, and continue to fight her disease. Our mission for this project was not only to provide each child with their key needs: a new bed for each and essential furniture pieces; but to create a space where the children could relax, feel at ease, and grow.

Because this project was located at a rented apartment versus a purchased home, NEDC was limited in regard to structural change. Still, our team worked creatively to bring color, new lighting, and double-closet desk nooks into the space,” says David Supple, CEO of NEDC and board member of the Room to Dream Foundation.

David and his team at NEDC are committed to giving back to the community, frequently becoming involved in charitable give-back projects like this one. The project was completed over the course of four days, with other local + national businesses pitching in to complete.

“The inspiration behind the bedroom style and palette stems from Spasy’s favorite show, Stranger Things, which is set in the 1980’s. Rather than going so literal with a theme, NEDC wanted to take Mid-Century Modern furniture elements into the space as well as fun patterns and colors from that era. Spasy’s favorite colors are blue and yellow which creates a relaxing atmosphere in the siblings’ bedroom.” Says NEDC Interior Design Coordinator and project lead Caitlin Kazunas.
